Welcome Summer Interns!
Well, it might not be a Google Internship like summers hot new movie ‘The Internship’, but I am sure other companies other than Google offer interesting experiences. I remember my first summer internship, I was 18 years old. I had just graduated from High School, and before the graduation parties, my parents had already shipped me off to my summer internship in Baltimore, MD.
I knew no one in Baltimore and had no idea what a internship really entailed. I was young, nervous, and missing my friends. The first day at my internship, turned out to be fantastic. The people at the office were so nice and welcomed me.
Interning ended up being one of the best experience of my life. The companies I interned for treated me extremely well and gave me the opportunity to learn! If you haven’t had an internship I highly encourage you to take the chance. Its a great way to put what you haven’t learned in college to use.
Interning gave me the courage to go out on a limb, make connections, live in cities I never thought I would ever visit. It broaden my horizon on the world of business and corporate culture from Fashion to the Film industry.
Last bit of advice: Summer Interns ask questions, participate, voice your thoughts, and make a friend, with the person whose job you find to be the most interesting!
