Polo Girls founded by Elizabeth Lewis better know as Libby Scripps, Libby Lewis and now Libby Kofmehl.
Libby is an accomplished American polo player, renowned for her skills and contributions to the sport. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, but raised in Wellington, Florida a hub for equestrian activities. Libby’s passion for polo was ignited at a young age. Growing up in such an equestrian-rich environment allowed her to immerse herself in the world of horses and polo, fostering a deep connection to the sport.
Libby’s journey in polo was significantly influenced by her stepfather, William T. Ylvisaker a prominent figure in the polo community. Ylvisaker, a respected player and patron, recognized Libby’s potential and took her under his wing. His mentorship provided her with invaluable insights into the game, along with training opportunities that honed her skills on the field.
As she developed her abilities, Libby quickly made a name for herself in local and national competitions. Her determination, work ethic, and talent enabled her to excel, earning her respect among peers and mentors alike. With each match, she showcased her strategic thinking, agility, and teamwork, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the polo world.
Libby’s contributions extend beyond her personal achievements; she is also dedicated to promoting the sport and inspiring the next generation of players. Through clinics, coaching, and mentorship programs, she shares her knowledge and passion for polo, helping young athletes navigate their own journeys in the sport.
With her roots in Wellington and the guidance of Ylvisaker and other players of influence, Libby continues to thrive as a polo player, embodying the spirit of dedication and excellence that defines the world of polo. As she looks to the future, Libby remains committed to her craft, eager to leave a lasting legacy in the sport she loves. Libby opened a polo training facility in Zelienople, PA which offers reduce rates for youth players and adult leagues.
